Raw salted caramel slice

Raw salted caramel slice

I would have to rate this raw salted caramel slice as one of my absolute favourites.

It has replaced my raw cacao brownies as the new kid on the block!

I made this slice about two weeks ago and I still have heaps of it left in my freezer.

I cut the slice into tiny bite sized pieces (about three bites a slice) and I treat myself to a slice after dinner most nights.

There is no processed sugar in it, no butter or trans fats and it is all organic natural ingredients.

Oh and by the way you can eat it straight from the freezer too!

The recipe is from a website called Keeper of the Kitchen, you can click on the link below to find it.

Just a quick note before you head on over there. I had a bit of trouble with the base not sticking together and being very crumbly.

I have since modified the base and now use my own recipe for it. This base has raw cacao powder in it so it actually makes is doubly scrumptious because now it is a raw chocolate salted caramel slice.

The Base is:

  • 1 cup organic peacan nuts
  • 1 cup organic raw cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup raw cacao powder
  • 8 organic medjool dates
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Blend the nuts first in your food processor and then add the rest of the ingredients.

Pour the mixture into a slice tray and press down firmly with your hands.

Place in the freezer for 15 minutes and then add the topping.

Warning, these are addictive!

Be happy, colour the world.
